A couple months ago Parker really started showing interest in the potty. He had gone pee pee a few times, but no interest in going poo poo. On the usual Target outing Parker would always play with the same large dump truck. We ended up buying it in hopes to see progress in his potty attempts, and then he could have it. It's rather humorous.... "dumping" for a dump truck. Anyway, the dump truck has probably been in eye view for about a month, but still no luck on the potty.
Today, for the first time he goes poo poo on the potty all by himself. He had his diaper off for a long period of time. I wanted him to either put a diaper on or try the potty. He didn't want either. I waited a little longer, and I knew by the way he stopped everything he was doing and ran, he had to go. I pretended not to look or even notice what he was doing, and he gets up and said, "I went pee pee, Mommy! And, there's poo poo in there!" Yes, this Momma did a big potty dance, jumped for joy, called Daddy, did the hugging, kissing and congratulating and then he finally got the dump truck!
I said, "Now wasn't that easy?" As happy as can be, he said, "yeah, mommy." Not long after that he did the sudden stop and ran behind his high chair to go again. I grabbed him real quick and said, "No, no you have to do it on the potty again. Remember, it was easy. You can do it!" He sat quickly, and went again today!!
His response getting up, "That was easy. Mommy, what toy do I get?" Ha-ha. He ended up with an Einstein show he asked for earlier that we buy from iTunes, a Matchbox car and an ice cream outing tonight to celebrate with Daddy. We hope if we make this exciting the first time he will want to continue going on the potty. So happy! We might be on our way to one out of diapers! Fingers crossed.

The Usual Publix Outing
This is what our Publix outing usually looks like. Daddy, the car cart and one happy boy!

Blessed
There are so many great things about my husband. People who know us personally know how intelligent my love is. He may hate this part of my blog, but as his wife I have permission to speak highly of him with nothing more than truth, honor, respect and love.
He is an outstanding father. The moment he gets up in the morning until he goes to bed at night, he is dedicated to playing/watching/helping with the boys. It's nonstop for the both of us, but Grant is so involved in ways that blow my mind. I have had ladies come up to me and tell me how wonderful it is to see a husband so involved. Some have admired his patience. He is giving, thoughtful and selfless. He is just amazing. End of story.
He's a great husband. He's the calm to my storms, my best friend, and my biggest supporter. His love is unconditional, and he makes me feel and know I'm his. He gives me confidence and stability. And, there's no better man in this world but him to show our boys how to love God, and how to love a wife. He's more than I deserve and I thank God for him!
And lastly, (where I originally wanted to go with this, ha-ha), he's so handy. Grant loves building, brainstorming, fixing, repairing, etc. You name it. It's in his blood. I guess he learned from his dad or the engineer in him. Probably both. His dad is very handy as well. Either way, it's a wonderful thing. Grant built the boys toy boxes, a cat box, a cat scratching post, built something you might call a moped, fixed our faucets, installed ceiling fans, repaired my iPhone, and the list goes on. He's always doing or fixing something around here.
This past Christmas I bought Parker a skateboard. It was pretty cheap, but great for Parker who knows just as much as I know about skateboards: nothing. Not a big deal, right? Apparently you can't steer well on it, and it wasn't going to be fun to use. So Grant buys a pretty decent pair of wheels and trucks at a garage sale for five dollars. Pricey, I know. Ha! I think Grant was more excited than Parker. However, he is always pretty excited about working with his tools. The moment he realizes daddy has his tools, he runs to get his. It's adorable to watch. He's already very much like daddy--
Swimming Progress
Parker has made HUGE progress. Before lessons, Parker wouldn't let us go. He was scared to swim without holding our hands, he didn't like getting into his swimmer ring without clinging to us, and jumping in only happened if we held his hands. Well, from previous blogs to this one, you can see the progress. He will swim using the ring or noodle without our hands, runs and jumps in, and goes under water voluntarily. (He always hated going under water; that went for the pool or bath time). When he finally understood the concept of holding his breath, we couldn't keep him from going under.
We are super amazed. He has made so much progress in such a short period of time. Before long, he will be swimming like a fish.
Chick-fil-a: Our Second Home
If we aren't home, we're probably here, ha-ha. We are there so often, it's like home to us. The employees are extremely nice, and know us by name. Mrs. Judy is exceptional, along with Dave, the manager, and the rest of the others who are always so friendly.
So, Parker usually gets ice cream if he finishes his dinner. Well, Mrs. Judy wanted to put a cherry on top. I grabbed his ice cream and said "Mrs. Judy's going to get you something special for your ice cream." She brings it back, and he loves it. Mrs. Judy comes back around, he picks up his cup and says, "do something special again, Mrs. Judy." In other words, more cherries please.
We love going to family night, especially on balloon night. Parker's a fan of the balloons, but I can't say the same for the big cow that walks around. He's terrified of him.

Parker's 2nd Day of Swimming Lessons
Again, it's not as bad as it looks. He's pretty much daddy's boy and on the way to lessons he was crying about his instructor. He was saying he wanted to go swimming with daddy, not Diore. It was still new to him, but once he got in he was fine! Another great lesson and another yummy lollipop!
