A couple months ago Parker really started showing interest in the potty. He had gone pee pee a few times, but no interest in going poo poo. On the usual Target outing Parker would always play with the same large dump truck. We ended up buying it in hopes to see progress in his potty attempts, and then he could have it. It's rather humorous.... "dumping" for a dump truck. Anyway, the dump truck has probably been in eye view for about a month, but still no luck on the potty.
Today, for the first time he goes poo poo on the potty all by himself. He had his diaper off for a long period of time. I wanted him to either put a diaper on or try the potty. He didn't want either. I waited a little longer, and I knew by the way he stopped everything he was doing and ran, he had to go. I pretended not to look or even notice what he was doing, and he gets up and said, "I went pee pee, Mommy! And, there's poo poo in there!" Yes, this Momma did a big potty dance, jumped for joy, called Daddy, did the hugging, kissing and congratulating and then he finally got the dump truck!
I said, "Now wasn't that easy?" As happy as can be, he said, "yeah, mommy." Not long after that he did the sudden stop and ran behind his high chair to go again. I grabbed him real quick and said, "No, no you have to do it on the potty again. Remember, it was easy. You can do it!" He sat quickly, and went again today!!
His response getting up, "That was easy. Mommy, what toy do I get?" Ha-ha. He ended up with an Einstein show he asked for earlier that we buy from iTunes, a Matchbox car and an ice cream outing tonight to celebrate with Daddy. We hope if we make this exciting the first time he will want to continue going on the potty. So happy! We might be on our way to one out of diapers! Fingers crossed.
