The "Tall" Papa, as Parker calls him, bought Parker a monster truck for his first Christmas or first birthday (I can't remember which one). That was his first and only monster truck for quite some time until Grandma came to visit. She went grocery shopping with us, and Parker noticed a small one at Publix. Of course, Grandma gets one for each of the boys. Since then, Santa brought him a few more, and he became a little more interested.
One day in January, after playing with Parker and making ramps, I realized he had never seen what monster trucks really do or how big they actually were. So, I searched YouTube videos, and after about an hour of being glued to the iPad, there was no question he was hooked! We quickly had the perfect idea for his birthday gift! Parker was so excited, but even more so because he had BOTH Papa's joining him. He had all of his favorite things!

The Party!
The party had a great turn out! Family and friends came to celebrate the boys, and we had a blast! The weather wasn't great: rainy, cold and overcast the entire day, but we made the most of it! (Here are a few pictures from the party, but even more are posted on Facebook.)

Parker & Reid's Actual Birthdays
I love surprises! There's something about waking up to something different, something exciting. Plus, the birth of our boys are worth celebrating, and with a little effort decorating (or blowing up about 60 balloons by mouth) it's SO worth seeing the excitement on their faces.
Most mornings Parker is the first one awake. Can you guess how it turned out on HIS birthday? Reid was the first one up! He was MORE than excited. Talk about a cheap party/gift... Just blow up 60 balloons and fill a room with them. It turned into hours of entertainment.

Parker finally wakes up!
The instant smile once he peeked around the corner. He was so excited.
His favorite color is green, which is why we believe his favorite Monster truck is Grave Digger.
(His gift from Daddy and Mommy were Monster Jam tickets. He's been obsessed.)
Donuts were on the table, along with green sprinkles to decorate himself. What child doesn't like sprinkles. It makes the meal all that more exciting, ha!
And, the first of many "Happy Birthday" songs and blowing out candles!
We joined Daddy for lunch at Chipotle, which was personally requested by the birthday boy! He knows good food! Smart boy!
After lunch with dad, we swung into Chick-fil-a for a quick treat!
Some of Parker's friends stopped by to wish him a happy birthday and give him birthday presents. They even joined us for dinner at Brucci's pizza. Parker was in heaven. He loves the girls!
Cupcakes!
Reid's birthday was the next day, and we couldn't leave him out! He may have been more excited about the balloons than Parker! So, in addition to the green ones, we blew up several blue balloons.
He also had a donut to devour, a candle and a song!
He even mastered blowing out his candle :-)
Later that night we had special visitors (Amanda and the girls) who came to help prep for the party!
I cannot thank my mom and Amanda enough for all of their help. You guys were so good to us. Your help was appreciated, and I wouldn't have been able to do it all without you!
Amanda brought gifts and let them open them. Reid seemed pretty excited, ha!
